Will trained as an anthropologist at the LSE, undertaking research that looked at local politics, community development and migration in Southern Mozambique. On completion of his PhD, Will jointly established ESRO (Ethnographic Social Research), a consultancy firm that specialises in applying ethnographic research methodologies outside the academic context.
Will has worked on research projects for commercial, public and third sector organisations throughout the world, with clients ranging from Microsoft and Unilever to the London Borough of Hackney and the Royal College of Nursing.
