Diet & Ramadan in Westminster

Ramadan is going into its second week and as the fast begins to take its toll on our bodies it is all the more important to make sure that we are eating the right foods when we CAN eat.
 

A talk on nutrition during Ramadan was held yesterday at the Church Street Library in Westminster. A great initiative from Westminster Council and the NHS! Dieticians came to give a simple, clear and informative presentation about our bodies’ nutritional needs during the month of Ramadan and in everyday life in general. Conclusion: eat carbs, lots of fruits and veg and avoid fat, dairy and sugar! 
Complete with visual aids, games and a Q&A session, this talk proved to serve its purpose very well as the audience gave positive feedback and certainly left the talk better informed.

We hope to see more of these educational sessions take shape in future throughout London but for now, Ramadan Mubarak!
