Zain Dada

Programme Manager

Zain is programme manager at Maslaha.  He joined Maslaha in March 2020 and is an experienced cultural producer and arts programmer.  Zain has previously worked at Free Word and Bush Theatre.  He studied BA Politics & History at SOAS, University of London and co-founded the Decolonising SOAS campaign during his time as the co-president of the Students' Union.  Following this, Zain studied MA Creative Writing & Education at Goldsmiths, University of London and was awarded a scholarship by the Aziz Foundation.


More broadly, Zain is a writer, researcher and director.  he is the co-founder of Khidr Collective - a multi-disciplinary arts collective platforming the work of Muslim artists.  Zain has written for Exeunt, Media Diversified, SkinDeep and Platform.  His directing credits include Outspoken Award winning short film, The Moon Is A Meme, written by former Channel 4 Playwright in Residence, Zia Ahmed.  In 2018, Zain was awarded a Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship and conducted research in the United States around community arts organisations and sustainability.
