The objectives of Islamic law.

 

The term maqasid is used in Islamic legal thinking to refer to the goals, objectives, or intent of the Shari'ah. As an idea it was developed between the eleventh and the fourteenth centuries CE, at a period when Islamic legal thinking continued to remain at its most creative.
