The 'path' of the Prophet (pbuh).

 

The term Sunnah refers to the 'way' or 'path' of the Prophet (pbuh). In Islam Muhammad’s (pbuh) life, or the Sirah, is revered as an example for all Muslims. His actions provide a lesson about how to live a just life, and so they are taken as the second source of authority – and the second 'source' of Islamic law – after the Quran.
